Yetta, a multifaceted artist of Puerto Rican and Jewish heritage, was born in Puerto Rico and spent her formative years in Brazil. As a result, she possesses native fluency in three languages: Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
Throughout her illustrious career, Yetta has been affiliated with esteemed institutions, including the Actors Studio and LAByrinth Theater Company, of which she is a Lifetime Member. Her impressive theatrical résumé boasts numerous Off-Broadway productions, with several originating roles penned by renowned playwrights John Patrick Shanley and Stephen Adly Guirgis.
Yetta has worked with a diverse array of acclaimed directors, including Philip Seymour Hoffman, Joe Bonney, and Lisa Peterson, both on stage in New York and regionally. In 2010, she received a Best Actress Ovation Award Nomination for her captivating performance in "Mariela in the Desert" at The Denver Center Theater.
Her extensive television credits include guest appearances on "Nurse Jackie," "Sex and the City," and "Law and Order: Criminal Intent." In film, she has appeared in notable projects such as "Sex, Death and Bowling," "Rabbit Hole," "Lucky You," and "27 Dresses."
Some of Yetta's most memorable roles include a Mexican artist in 1950's Mexico ("Mariela in the Desert," Denver Center Theater),a grieving mother on Long Island (Rabbit Hole with Nicole Kidman),a struggling actress ("Where's My Money?," written and directed by John Patrick Shanley),a blue-collar Queens girl on a disastrous first date (Steak Knife, Nurse Jackie),and Mary Magdalene in "The Last Days of Judas Iscariot," written by Tony-nominated Stephen Adly Guirgis and directed by Oscar-winning Philip Seymour Hoffman at The Public Theater in New York.
In addition to her live performances, Yetta has also lent her voice to numerous audiobooks. When not working on projects, she divides her time between New York, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico.
