Born and raised in the vibrant city of San Francisco, California, Xavier's early exposure to the world of acting was a location shoot for the esteemed T.V. series "Streets of San Francisco" starring the renowned actors Michael Douglas and Karl Malden in 1973, a production of the prominent Quinn Martin, at the tender age of 8.
Since that fateful day, Xavier has embarked on a remarkable journey to hone his craft, studying acting in various esteemed institutions across California, New York, Toronto, and Ottawa, Canada, with a notable mentorship under the guidance of the illustrious John Strasberg.
Throughout his illustrious film and television career, Xavier has established a firm foundation in theatre, and has had the privilege of appearing in over 40 titles, encompassing a diverse range of genres, from independent films to Canadian public service announcements, made-for-television movies for Hallmark and Lifetime Networks, big-budget feature films, and major network episodic television.
Notably, Xavier has had the distinction of being the first Latino male to occupy the captain's chair in one of television's longest-running and most enduring science fiction franchises, Star Trek, as the esteemed Captain Diego Vela on the CBS Paramount series Star Trek Discovery.
