Born in the vibrant city of Beijing, China, in the year 1974, a young individual was destined for greatness, with a trajectory that would be shaped by the ancient art of Wushu. At the tender age of six, this young prodigy was sent to train at the prestigious Beijing Wushu Academy, where his passion for martial arts was nurtured by the guidance of his father and grandfather, both accomplished martial artists in their own right.
As the years went by, this young Wushu practitioner honed his skills, and his dedication and natural talent began to garner attention from the film industry. In 1995, a chance encounter with renowned martial arts director Yuen Woo-Ping, who was scouting for a talented martial artist for his film Tai Chi 2 (also known as Tai Chi Boxer),would prove to be a turning point in his career.
Yuen Woo-Ping, impressed by the young man's exceptional skill and dedication, recognized his potential and offered him a role in the film. This exposure propelled him to fame across East Asia, earning him widespread respect and admiration for his remarkable abilities. Throughout his career, he would go on to contribute to the scripts and choreography of his work, infusing his natural talent and sense of humor into each project, leaving a lasting impression on audiences worldwide.
