Biography

William Mesa, a renowned visual effects director, has made a lasting impact in the industry as Vice-President of Introvision. During his tenure, he supervised and directed visual effects for numerous films, including Rob Reiner's Stand By Me, Sylvester Stallone's Rambo III, Sam Raimi's Darkman and Army of Darkness, Andy Davis' Under Siege, Bruce Beresford's Driving Miss Daisy, and Peter Weir's Fearless.

William's expertise was instrumental in creating the iconic train crash scene in Andy Davis's The Fugitive, starring Harrison Ford. This masterpiece earned him a Technical Achievement Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences in 1988.

Throughout his illustrious career, William has received numerous accolades, including a British Academy Award Nomination for Best Visual Effects on The Fugitive, three Emmy Awards for his work on Miracle Landing, The Hugga Bunch, and The Pacific, and seven major awards for Best Commercial Visual Effects for the Batman/Onstar commercials.

In 1993, William founded Flash Film Works Inc., a company that has enabled him to pursue his passion for visual effects in film and television. His directorial debut was the science fiction action adventure Terminal Force, also known as Galaxis, for HBO, as well as the CD ROM game Maximum Surge.

William's second directorial venture was the picture DNA, which premiered on HBO. He has continued to work as a visual effects supervisor on films such as Wes Craven's New Nightmare, The Waterboy, Collateral Damage, Holes, and The Guardian. Flash Film Works has also contributed to the visual effects of films like Deep Blue Sea, Red Planet, The Adventures of Pluto Nash, The Last Samurai, and Dolphin Tale.

In addition to his work in film, William co-produced the web series Dragon Age: Redemption.
