William Dever, a lifelong cinephile, has been involved in low-budget feature filmmaking since 1988, taking on the roles of director, writer, producer, and even occasional actor, demonstrating his versatility and willingness to work within tight budgets.
As the founder of The B Movie Celebration, Dever dedicates his time and expertise to promoting genre filmmaking and preserving its cultural significance through his editorial work on the bmovienation website.
Beyond his passion for filmmaking, Dever is also committed to reviving interest in drive-in movie-going and introducing new generations to the magical experience of watching a movie under the stars.
In addition to his work in the film industry, Dever has extensive experience in developing a range of IP video applications, including web, streaming audio, streaming video, and cable television. His consulting services have been utilized in the development of interactive IP set-top boxes for North and South American deployments, as well as the deployment of interactive video tests in various countries, including Venezuela, Chile, the Dominican Republic, and Trump Tower for NEC Japan.
Dever has also been responsible for managing the deployment of video services in multiple regions, including Cleveland, Akron, Chicago, and the State of Washington in conjunction with the Public Utility District. He has developed the first MPEG2/DVD authoring facility in the Prairies and has produced DVDs for notable companies such as Madacy, UAV, ESX, Apple Entertainment, and Front Row.
