Biography

Wanda Perry, born Helen Beuscher on July 24, 1917, in Brooklyn, New York, grew up to be a stunning young woman.

At the tender age of sixteen, she was crowned "Miss New York City" and received a movie contract offer from the illustrious showman Earl Carroll.

Wanda moved to Hollywood with her parents, Wanda and Carl Beuscher, and adopted her mother's maiden name. She embarked on a multifaceted career as a showgirl, Earl Carroll Girl, Goldwyn Girl, dancer in "George White's 1935 Scandals," fashion model, extra, bit player, and stand-in for the renowned Lucille Ball.

Before World War II, Wanda married Dr. Irving Browne, a handsome dentist, and they had two children, Charles and Joyce, who currently reside in San Francisco and Los Angeles, respectively.

Wanda's second husband was the dashing Olympic swimmer Bob Milton, who swam alongside the legendary Johnny Weissmuller, who later became "Tarzan." Bob's sister, Beth Belden, was an original Ziegfeld Girl on Broadway. The couple shared a fascinating dimension of the film business, with Bob working as a movie extra, dancer, and stand-in for Don Ameche for many years. They even had the privilege of having lunch with the esteemed Henry Fonda.

Their son, Robbie, currently resides in Mammoth Lakes, California, a well-known ski resort.
