Walnette Marie Santiago, a talented individual of Puerto Rican and Dominican descent, was born in San German, Puerto Rico, to Johirah Morato and Waldemar Santiago. She is the oldest of five siblings and grew up in the Bronx, New York, where she began exploring her passion for creative arts at the tender age of eight.
At Starlite Dance Studio, Walnette honed her skills in salsa and hip-hop, which would later prove beneficial in her pursuit of acting. Her mastery of the dances instilled in her a deep understanding of the level of dedication and discipline required to deliver exceptional performances.
In 2008, Walnette's family relocated to Alpharetta, Georgia, where she attended Georgia State University. It was during this time that her interest in acting reached new heights. Two years later, she began to vigorously train and was soon scouted by multiple talent agents following a riveting showcase performance.
Within the first six months of her professional acting career, Walnette consistently landed a series of co-star roles, including appearances in the hit television series 'The Vampire Diaries' and 'Atlanta.' Her performances were directed by Emmy award-winning director, David Nutter, further solidifying her talent.
In addition to her acting pursuits, Walnette has also discovered a hidden gift for writing. She uses her blog as an outlet to candidly express her journey as an actress and to inspire others.
