Biography

Vincent Peter Jones, born on January 5, 1965, in Watford, England, initially gained public recognition as a professional footballer playing in the English Football League. Noted for his tough and rugged persona, he rose to fame after a photographer captured a provocative moment during a match, where he was seen grabbing the testicles of Newcastle United's Paul Gascoigne. Jones played for several prominent clubs, including Wimbledon, Leeds United, Sheffield United, Chelsea, and Queens Park Rangers, and also represented Wales in international matches, having qualified for Welsh nationality through his grandparents.

At the age of 33, Jones made his acting debut in the British comedy-thriller, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998),although he had previously presented a video on football's hard men, which led to him being censured by the Football Association. He later starred in the blockbuster X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) as Cain Marko, also known as The Juggernaut, and showcased his comedic side in Dreamworks' She's the Man (2006) alongside Amanda Bynes.

Jones has also appeared in several other notable projects, including the lead role in Johnny Was (2006) alongside Roger Daltrey, Eriq La Salle, and Lennox Lewis, as well as the independent feature The Riddle (2007) starring Vanessa Redgrave and Derek Jacobi.

Throughout his career, Jones has received numerous prestigious awards and accolades, demonstrating his versatility and talent as an actor. In 1997, he was named Personality of the Year by Satellite TV Europe Magazine, and in 1998, GQ Magazine honored him as Man of the Year. He won Best Actor for Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) at the Odeon Audience Awards and received the Outstanding New Talent award from the Sir James Carreras Award Variety Club of GB.

Jones also won Best Debut in 1999 for Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) at Empire Magazine's The Awards 1999 and was named Male Cigar Personality of the Year at the Millennium Cigar Awards. In 2001, he was named Best British Actor for Empire Magazine's The Awards 2001, and in 2002, he received the Best Supporting Actor award for Night at the Golden Eagle (2001) at the New York Film Festival.
