Victoria Vertuga is a California native who now divides her time between Los Angeles and Atlanta, having graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Southern California. Prior to pursuing a career in front of the camera, she worked on the business side of entertainment, leveraging her skills and expertise to secure high-profile commercial roles with major brands such as Gap, Budweiser, and Geico.
Her initial foray into television came with a guest appearance on the long-running soap opera "Days of Our Lives," followed by a role in the hit series "Dexter." However, feeling unfulfilled by the repetitive stereotypes of "hot blonde," "dumb blonde," and "hot, dumb blonde," Vertuga branched out into writing, directing, and producing, showcasing her creative range and versatility.
Her pilot scripts, "Tithes" and "The Other City," have garnered critical acclaim, securing semifinalist positions in prestigious screenwriting competitions, including the Austin Film Festival. Moreover, her darkly comedic web series, DisGraced, made its festival premiere at the Women's Comedy Film Festival in spring 2021, subsequently playing at over 45 film festivals and earning 20 award nominations and 10 wins, including multiple Best Comedy and Best Actress accolades.
Vertuga's directorial debut, "Lexi," which she also wrote and stars in, was released in the fall of 2022. Her latest project, Cold Blows the Wind, premiered at the Horror Hound film festival in March 2023, where it won Best Feature and Judge's Choice, and Vertuga was nominated for Best Actress.
A passionate animal lover, Vertuga is an avid volunteer with the Best Friends Animal Society/NKLA and a dedicated member of the core team of Angel City Pitbulls. She is also the proud dog-mom of three rescue pit bulls, reflecting her unwavering commitment to animal welfare and advocacy.
