Victoria Monai Richards was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, where her American mother and Panamanian American father instilled in her a passion for acting from a very early age. By the time she was just nine years old, she had already secured her first agent and was attending the prestigious Festival de Cannes with her older brother, who narrated a short film that was nominated for the Palme d'Or - Best Short Film award in 2012.
Growing up, Victoria continued to hone her acting skills by performing in local theaters and school plays, but she also developed a strong academic foundation and pursued her interest in sports, ultimately focusing on Track & Field. She attended Charlotte Christian before being recruited by IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, where she excelled as a student-athlete.
However, her freshman year at the University of Arizona was cut short in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and Victoria returned home to refocus on her first love - acting. By the end of 2021, she had acted in over 21 projects and landed a recurring role on Issa Rae's Rap Shit.
In 2022, Victoria relocated to Los Angeles, where she co-wrote her first comedic feature film, Tricked and Treated, with her mother and creative partner Sherrie Richards. The film was a true family affair, with Victoria directing, starring in, and producing alongside her mother, brother, sister-in-law, and a talented team of individuals.
Against all odds, Victoria's first-time writer, director, and producer endeavor received SAG approval during the 2023 strike, allowing the film to be shot for 21 days, starting on September 11, 2023. The project not only provided jobs for many individuals in need but also served as a testament to the power of perseverance and the importance of following one's dreams.
