Victor Varnado's early life was marked by a childhood in Huntsville, Alabama, which later influenced his decision to relocate to Minneapolis. In Minneapolis, he immersed himself in the city's thriving improv scene, collaborating with troupes such as ComedySportz MN, The Bad Mamma Jammas, and regional theater companies. This experience ultimately led to his first film role in Big River Productions' Full Moon Rising (1996),where he played a copy clerk.
His subsequent appearance in Giraffe Films' "Kids Adventures in Oz" prompted him to make the bold move to New York City, where he pursued a career in acting. Varnado's big break arrived when he landed a role in Elton John's music video "Recovering Your Soul". He soon found himself starring alongside Ewen Bremner, Werner Herzog, and Chloe Sevigny in Forensic Films' Julien Donkey-Boy (1999).
Varnado's impressive resume continued to grow with his casting in Universal's feature film End of Days (1999),starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, which was released in November 1999. He co-starred in Eddie Murphy's space-age comic thriller, The Adventures of Pluto Nash (2002),which hit national theaters on August 16, 2003.
The talented comedian and actor has received numerous accolades, including the Most Valuable Performer award at the 2001 Montreal Just For Laughs Improv Championship and a bronze medal at the 2002 Comedy Central Laugh Riots National Stand-Up Competition. Varnado can currently be seen in the independent film Hacks (2001),where he plays the outrageous urban comic Otis. The film premiered at the New York International Film Festival and is now an official selection for The Milan Film Festival.
In addition to his acting career, Varnado is a member of Chicago City Limits, New York's longest-running comedy improv theater company. He writes, directs, and performs regularly as a stand-up comedian, solidifying his position as a versatile and talented artist in the entertainment industry.
