Victor Jay Kubicek, born in Miami Beach, Florida, was the son of the late J. R. Kubicek IV, a renowned ski champion, and Eva Havelka, a model of Czech and Austrian descent. Kubicek's paternal heritage was rooted in Czech and German traditions, while his maternal side was influenced by Czech and Austrian customs.
At the tender age of 11, Kubicek's life took a dramatic turn when he was discovered by a fashion photographer while running on the beach. This chance encounter led to his modeling career, with notable campaigns for Burdines and The Gap. Shortly after, he enrolled in Pine Crest Preparatory School in 1992 and graduated in 1999.
Kubicek's academic pursuits continued at Columbia University, where he majored in Economics and Philosophy. During his college years, he lent his likeness to prominent global brands such as Varvatos, Miu Miu, and Versace.
After graduating from Columbia, Kubicek briefly held a seat on the American Stock Exchange before relocating to Los Angeles to co-write and star in a television show about young life at an old Ivy League college. This marked the beginning of his illustrious career in film and television, which culminated in the co-founding of The Halcyon Company in 2006 at the age of 25.
