Victor Hawks, a talented individual with a strong connection to the Windy City, Chicago, Illinois, embarked on a journey to Washington D.C. after completing his high school education, where he pursued his passion for Musical Theatre at The Catholic University of America. Following his academic achievements, he made the bold decision to take on the bright lights of New York City, determined to make a name for himself on the prestigious Broadway stage.
Within a relatively short period, he landed his first Broadway show, joining the original company of the hit musical "Urinetown the Musical." This remarkable achievement marked the beginning of his decade-long stint on Broadway, where he went on to star in notable productions such as "The Producers," playing the iconic role of Jean Valjean in the beloved musical "Les Miserables," and bringing Stewpot to life in the Tony Award-winning revival of "South Pacific" at Lincoln Center.
While Victor's love for the stage remains unwavering, his true creative passion has always resided in writing for television and film. During his "Producer years," he began crafting his first play, "Construction," a 167-page opus that underwent numerous readings before almost being produced on Broadway. Recognizing that the true audience for this piece lay on the silver screen, the play evolved into a screenplay, paving the way for the rest of his illustrious career.
Victor's journey continued as he collaborated with Angie Canuel, a fellow "Producers" alumna, to bring "Construction" to life on the big screen. The duo worked tirelessly to bring the project to fruition, eventually filming it in its original New York City setting. This marked the inception of Vision Vehicle Productions, an umbrella under which Victor would go on to write and produce "Pass the Light" and develop over eight films and twelve television pilots.
