Venus De Light, the renowned burlesque legend, actress, and model, was born Lynn Wiegand in St. Paul, Minnesota. This stunning blue-eyed blonde bombshell migrated to California, where she pursued her passion for acting at the prestigious University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and the Lee Strasberg Institute.
Venus's career in the entertainment industry began as a house dancer in several prominent Los Angeles clubs, including The World Famous Body Shop and the KitKat Club. By 1980, she had secured a featured spot in the Penthouse Pet Revue on the Las Vegas Strip, mesmerizing audiences with her fiery act.
Not long after, Venus embarked on a nationwide and international tour, showcasing her elaborate 500,000-dollar production, featuring her own DJ and stagehands. This spectacular display included multiple giant champagne glasses, a light show, a revolving stage, pyrotechnics, a 16-foot Burmese Python, a 6-foot Boa Constrictor, an Albino Burmese Python, an Umbrella Cockatoo, and a Squirrel Monkey.
Venus is perhaps most famous for her captivating dancing dummy ventriloquist act, which she performed alongside bathing in a giant champagne glass in various Las Vegas strip revues, including Minsky's Burlesque, Playboy's Girls of Rock and Roll, and Hot Lips. Her performances have taken her all around the world.
In addition to her burlesque career, Venus has also been a former publisher of "Cheri Magazine" and won the prestigious Miss Nude Universe title, which she held for six years. Notably, Dita Von Teese has referred to Venus as her idol, having performed alongside her in Las Vegas's "The Divas of Dance" production in 2000.
Venus has been inducted into the Burlesque Hall of Fame and was honored with a tribute dance number featuring a dancing dummy routine by the long-running Burlesque X show in Las Vegas in 2024.
Beyond her burlesque career, Venus has also ventured into professional wrestling, competing for organizations such as the California Wildcats, APL Wrestling, DT Productions, and Sabre Studios. She has also appeared as herself in the documentary "Stripper" and acted in a handful of racy adult films.
