Biography

Vanessa Ciangherotti is a renowned Mexican film, theater, and television actress, boasting a long-standing career in melodramas for TV Azteca. As a direct descendant of the esteemed Soler dynasty of actors in Mexico, she is the daughter of actor Fernando Luján and sister of actors Cassandra Ciangherotti and Fernando Ciangherotti. Her marriage to actor Roberto Sosa, from 1996 to 2002, was a significant chapter in her personal life.

Born into an artistic dynasty that has been active for over a decade, Vanessa is a theater-trained actress who has had the privilege of studying dramatic art, stage direction, and dramaturgy under the guidance of the best teachers in Mexico and internationally. Her educational journey took her to Colombia, Canada, the United States, and England, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of the art form.

Vanessa began her professional career as an actress in 1989 under the direction of prominent Mexican directors, which led to her three-year stint with the renowned independent theater group Taller del Sótano. During this period, she participated in international festivals in over six countries with the play El Otro Exilio, a tribute to Albert Camus.

Throughout her illustrious career, Vanessa has been involved in a wide range of projects across various disciplines. In television, she has appeared in notable productions such as Todo por amor and Se busca un hombre. Her theatrical credits include Bellas atroces, Malcolm, Chicas católicas, and many more.

In film, Vanessa has showcased her talent in Paty chula, which earned her an Ariel award in 1992, and Sonríe, which received an Ariel award in 1998. In 2011, she was awarded the Silver Goddess (Pecime) as best actress.

As a stage director, Vanessa's first production was Pita en cuatro tiempos, which premiered at the Fourth international cabaret festival, CDMS (best direction),and went on to receive the same award at the VI Theater festival in Lima, Peru. She has also worked with the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences in the production of the Ariel Award Show 2010, under the direction of Hector Bonilla.

In television, Vanessa has directed the social content series Lo que callamos las mujeres for six years for Tv Azteca and the series Bajo el alma for Azteca 7. She has also directed various productions for Microteatro México and Teatro en corto. After 27 years of working in front of and behind the camera, Vanessa is currently setting up her own audiovisual content and production company, with Ciencia bruja being her first series.
