Vanessa Burns is a talented Canadian actress of Guyanese-English descent, born and raised in the city of Mississauga, Ontario.
Her passion for the performing arts began at a very young age, when she was cast in her first school play at the tender age of eight. This marked the start of her journey in the world of acting, and she would later go on to attend a prestigious performing arts high school, where she majored in Drama and honed her craft.
Following her high school graduation, Vanessa immersed herself in on-camera studies, quickly becoming a member of the prestigious ACTRA and establishing herself as a professional performer. Over the past two decades, she has appeared in numerous national commercials across Canada, the United States, and Europe.
Vanessa is perhaps best known for her recurring roles in several hit television shows, including The Handmaid's Tale and Designated Survivor, where she had the opportunity to share the screen with high-profile talent such as Elizabeth Moss, Kiefer Sutherland, and Kal Penn.
Apart from her notable television appearances, Vanessa has also acted in and appeared in over 43 films, series, and programs, including Reindeer Games, Well Suited for Christmas, Star Trek: Discovery, and Workin' Moms, to name just a few.
When she's not busy acting, Vanessa resides in her hometown of Mississauga with her husband and two daughters. In between acting gigs, she works as a Headshot photographer at her own photography studio, Vanessa Burns Photography, located in Port Credit, Mississauga.
