Biography

Ulrik Munther, a talented Swedish singer, was born on February 18, 1994, in Kungsbacka, Sweden. He began his musical journey at a young age, playing in various youth rock bands around Kungsbacka and Göteborg.

As he grew older, Munther started writing his own material and promoting his songs on YouTube, which gained him extensive touring experience and appearances on several Swedish television shows. At the age of 15, he participated in Lilla Melodifestivalen, a national Swedish competition for young singers, with his original song "En vanlig dag" ("An Ordinary Day").

Munther's talent and dedication earned him a spot in the MGP Nordic competition, where he won the title alongside participants from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland. He then took part in Metro Music Challenge, finishing second with his composition "Life".

Producer Johan Åberg recognized Munther's potential and began a musical collaboration with him. The song "Boys Don't Cry" was leaked online, attracting international attention from record labels, and Munther eventually signed with Universal Records Sweden in September 2010.

Munther toured extensively, performing in the United States, Britain, and Continental Europe. He gained popularity with his cover of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way", which was posted on Perez Hilton's website. He also participated in several charity events, including SVT's Bobster program, Sommarlov, and Allsång på Skansen.

In August 2011, Munther released his self-titled debut album, which debuted at number one on the Swedish Album Charts. The album was recorded in Stockholm and featured a mix of songs recorded in his own home. He collaborated with Caroline Costa on the single "Je t'ai menti" (French version of "Kill for Lies"),which entered the French Singles Chart in February 2012.

Munther continued to gain recognition, participating in Melodifestivalen 2012 with the song "Soldiers", which finished third overall. In 2013, he participated in Melodifestivalen 2013 with the song "Tell the World I'm Here", co-written with Thomas G:son and Peter Boström, and finished third once again.

Throughout his career, Munther has demonstrated his musical talent and dedication, captivating audiences with his unique voice and style.
