Tyler C. Peterson, a multifaceted filmmaker, has made a name for himself as the founder of Lux Daze Media, a production company that has won a Capital Emmy.
Born and raised in rural Maryland, Peterson's journey began at Towson University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in film and developed a thirst for challenging the status quo in the industry.
After graduating, he moved to Baltimore and started exploring his voice as a Writer/Director, as well as his own queer identity. This period of self-discovery led him to establish Lux Daze Media in 2015, with a mission to prioritize diversity in both front-of-camera and behind-the-camera roles.
Peterson's work focuses on character-driven stories that shed light on outsiders from niche communities, often featuring a richly textured and elevated aesthetic.
Currently based in Los Angeles, Peterson is developing feature films and promoting his short film "Stan Behavior" on the festival circuit. The film has received prestigious selections, including the Oscar-qualifying Provincetown International Film Festival, Miami Film Festival, Frameline: The San Francisco International LGBTQ+ Film Festival, NewFest: The New York LGBTQ+ Film Festival, and SCAD Savannah Film Festival, where it was presented by Amazon MGM Studios.
The film stars Ginger Minj ("RuPaul's Drag Race", "Dumplin'", "Hocus Pocus 2") and Yvonne Zima ("The Long Kiss Goodnight", "Heat", "ER", "The Young and the Restless").
In addition to his work on "Stan Behavior", Peterson also co-produced Jena Burchick's feature-length documentary "Mom & M", which won the Emmy Award for Best Documentary - Cultural/Topical at the 2023 National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the Emmys.
Furthermore, Peterson's feature film screenplay "Bellevue" placed as a Quarterfinalist in Final Draft's Big Break Screenwriting Competition 2024.
