Ty Trumbo is a renowned American actor and writer, famously recognized for his role as a series regular on Mr. Student Body President, the winner of the prestigious Best Ensemble Cast award at the 2017 Streamy Awards. Born and raised in the charming small beach town of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Ty spent a significant portion of his youth honing his skills on the basketball court before attending Emory University in Atlanta, where he excelled as a varsity athlete in both basketball and track & field.
After graduating with a degree in screenwriting, Ty embarked on a career in lobbying, traveling extensively across the United States, advocating for social and policy reform. His work ultimately led him to Los Angeles, where his passion for storytelling and performance inspired him to pursue acting full-time.
In addition to his notable role in Mr. Student Body President, which is available on Apple TV+ and Amazon Prime, Ty has appeared in a diverse range of acclaimed television series, including Dear White People on Netflix, Bosch: Legacy on Amazon, Duster on HBO, The Passage on Fox, and The Resident on Fox, among others. In 2019, he received a nomination for Best Actor by the Austin Revolution Film Festival for his leading role in the feature film The Sound of Settling.
