Troy's childhood was marked by a tumultuous adolescence, which ultimately led him to find solace in the world of creativity and fantasy through movies. He began crafting stories in middle school and went on to win a prestigious Best Screenplay Award from the Purdue University statewide Literary Awards.
As he navigated his teenage years, Troy's fascination with the silver screen only grew stronger. He made his acting debut in a large-scale production play, taking on the role of Boo Radley, an iconic character that held a special place in his heart. This role was also a nod to one of his acting idols, Robert Duvall, who had played the character in a film.
While still in college, Troy had a serendipitous encounter with renowned photographer Dennis Stock at a gas station in Indiana. This chance meeting seemed to seal his fate, and he decided that he was destined to make it big in Hollywood.
Troy subsequently relocated to Los Angeles, where he enrolled in the prestigious Playhouse West acting program, founded by Robert Carnegie and Jeff Goldblum. During his time at Playhouse West, he had the opportunity to work alongside some of the industry's most talented actors and directors, including James Franco, who had inspired him to pursue his passion for acting.
Troy's big break came when he landed an uncredited background role in a scene with the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, earning him his Screen Actors Guild card. He also had the privilege of working with the Duffer Brothers on their early short film, Abraham's Boys, which would go on to become the critically acclaimed Netflix series Stranger Things.
In addition to his work in film and television, Troy has also made a name for himself as a talented actor in the horror genre. He starred in the lead role of The Blackout Experiment, a film that was finally released worldwide in 2021 after several years of being shelved. The film was dubbed in multiple languages and is available for streaming or purchase on DVD.
Troy's most recent and critically acclaimed role to date is in the film Goin' Around, which premiered on Amazon Prime Rental in late 2024.
Today, Troy calls Atlanta and the Southeast home, where he continues to pursue his passion for acting and storytelling.
