Travis W. Bruyer, a native of Kalispell, Montana, grew up surrounded by the nostalgic charm of 8 and 16 mm film. Following his high school graduation, he pursued a degree in film and television at Montana State University, where he honed his skills and laid the foundation for a successful career in the entertainment industry.
Before venturing into the world of film and television, Travis served his country with distinction in the US Coast Guard. During his tenure, he was responsible for providing security details for high-profile movie sets, including the iconic productions of Down Periscope and Baywatch. This experience not only deepened his understanding of the importance of accuracy in military and law enforcement portrayals but also instilled in him a sense of purpose and dedication to his craft.
After three decades of dedicated service in Law Enforcement, Travis Bruyer retired and redirected his energies towards pursuing his other passions. One of his most notable endeavors is the establishment of the Montana Institute for the Arts, a prestigious film school that he co-founded with esteemed Director Michael Polish and Actress Kate Bosworth. As the Executive Director of this esteemed institution, Travis has played a pivotal role in shaping the artistic vision and educational mission of the school.
In addition to his work as an educator and entrepreneur, Travis Bruyer has also established himself as a talented actor, armorer, and military and law enforcement adviser. His extensive experience in these fields has made him a sought-after expert in the realm of tactical, investigative, costume, armed or weaponless defense training, and general advice on film sets.
Beyond his work in the entertainment industry, Travis maintains his Private Investigator license and has published investigative guides for Montana, as well as training articles and a book for students navigating the criminal justice system. His most recent publication, the Armed Intruder and Situational Awareness Survival Guide, is a testament to his commitment to sharing his expertise and empowering others with the knowledge and skills necessary to stay safe in today's complex and often uncertain world.
