Travis Mills, a renowned filmmaker, was born in the vibrant city of Quito, Ecuador, and spent the majority of his early life abroad, exploring the diverse cultures and landscapes of Europe and Africa before returning to the United States. He eventually settled in Arizona, where he co-founded Running Wild Films in 2010 alongside playwright Gus Edwards. Since its inception, the production company has produced an impressive array of over 25 feature films and more than 100 short film projects.
In 2020, Mills embarked on his most ambitious project to date, successfully completing the production of 12 feature-length Western films within a remarkable 12-month timeframe. This extraordinary feat was documented in his book, "The Making of 12 Westerns: Or How I Made a Dozen Movies During a Global Pandemic and Survived," which is available on Amazon.
The following year, Mills collaborated with producer Dallas Sonnier on the Western film "TERROR ON THE PRAIRIE," starring Gina Carano. He also joined forces with Sonnier again as a lead producer on the historical/fantasy TV series "THE PENDRAGON CYCLE."
In 2024, Mills' screenplay "THIEVES HIGHWAY" was adapted into a feature film starring Aaron Eckhart. Additionally, he directed and produced the Western film "FRONTIER CRUCIBLE," which boasts an impressive cast featuring William H. Macy, Armie Hammer, and Thomas Jane.
