Biography

Travis Brorsen, a renowned dog trainer, is the Founder and CEO of Greatest American Dog Trainers, and has established himself as Animal Planet's pet expert and trainer, hosting the popular series My Big Fat Pet Makeover.

Growing up on a farm and ranch in Oklahoma, Travis was surrounded by animals of all shapes and sizes, developing a lifelong passion for the creatures. However, he chose to pursue a career in entertainment rather than agriculture, moving to Los Angeles after college to appear in over 20 national commercials and guest star in several hit TV shows, including Desperate Housewives, JAG, Bones, and Drop Dead Diva.

In 2008, Travis and his energetic and untrained boxer, Presley, were selected as contestants for CBS' national dog training competition, Greatest American Dog. Despite being given little chance of advancing past the first week, Travis and Presley pushed themselves to their limits and, after 12 weeks of grueling competition, defied the odds and emerged as the overall winners.

The experience sparked a newfound passion in Travis to help other dogs and their owners create positive learning and relationship-building experiences. He spent the next five years building a successful dog training business in Los Angeles, before relocating to New York City in 2012 to marry his sweetheart Heather. There, he founded Greatest American Dog Trainers and continues to work with a range of canine clients, from Park Avenue pooches to pets from all walks of life.

Throughout his career, Travis has received numerous accolades, including a nomination for TV's Best Dynamic Duo for the Fox Reality Awards. He has also become a frequent guest on various TV and radio shows, such as Rachael Ray, Fox and Friends, Animal Planet's Faithful Friends, National Geographic's Brain Games, and E!. Additionally, he has contributed to numerous publications, including Good Housekeeping, Life and Dog Magazine, Boxers Magazine, Dogster, The Dogington Post, and Hollywood Life.
