Biography

Trace Adkins' distinctive baritone voice has propelled numerous hits to the pinnacle of the charts, resulting in album sales exceeding 10 million, a cumulative total. The Grammy-nominated artist, a member of the Grand Ole Opry, has diversified his career by becoming a television personality, actor, author, and spokesperson for the Wounded Warrior Program, the American Red Cross, and has embarked on seven USO Tours.

Born in Louisiana, to parents Peggy (Carraway) and Aaron Doyle Adkins, a mill worker, Adkins' life story is one of perseverance and resilience. His 2007 autobiography, A Personal Stand: Observations and Opinions from a Freethinking Roughneck, chronicles his rise to fame, brushes with mortality, and struggles with personal demons. The 6'6" oil-rigger recounts his experiences with fatherhood, raising five daughters, and shares his unique approach to handling the challenges that come with being a strong, rugged individual.

In 2008, Adkins' integrity and quick wit served him well as a finalist on NBC's The Celebrity Apprentice, preparing him for his subsequent appearances on behalf of the American Red Cross on NBC's All-Star Celebrity Apprentice, which aired Sunday nights at 9PM EST/PT.

Throughout his career, Adkins has demonstrated his acting chops, playing a tough-as-nails biker in The Lincoln Lawyer, starring Matthew McConaughey. He has also developed and hosted GAC's "Great American Heroes" series, paying tribute to everyday Americans making a positive impact, and has hosted the American Country Awards on FOX for three consecutive years.

In 2011, Adkins' album Proud To Be Here debuted at the top of the Billboard Country Chart, fueled by the Top Ten hit "Just Fishin'." His eleventh studio album, Love Will..., is scheduled for release in the Spring of 2013 on Show Dog-Universal Music.
