Tommy Cole, a highly accomplished individual, made headlines in November 2003 when he successfully ran for and won the election to become Business Representative for Local 706, a prestigious organization representing Makeup Artists and Hair Stylists Guild. This full-time position came with a significant responsibility, as Cole was tasked with overseeing the affairs of over 1700 active members who worked in various sectors, including Television, Motion Picture, Commercial, Network Television, and Theatrical venues within and outside of Los Angeles.
As Business Representative, Cole was responsible for negotiating and interpreting numerous contracts that his members worked under. His exceptional leadership skills and industry expertise enabled him to effectively manage the complex contractual agreements, ensuring a smooth working experience for his members.
Fast forward to 2008, Cole continued to serve in his role as Business Representative, concurrently holding the position of Television Academy Governor for his peer group, Makeup and Hair. This esteemed position granted him a platform to make significant contributions to the industry, shaping its future and fostering growth.
In addition to his responsibilities within Local 706, Cole also served on the Board of Directors for the Motion Picture Industry Pension and Health Plans. This appointment further solidified his reputation as a respected and influential figure within the entertainment industry.
