Biography

Tom Patricola was a renowned American actor, dancer, and vaudevillian who spent five remarkable years from 1923 to 1928 as a leading comic with the esteemed "George White's Scandals". Despite being rather stocky and muscular, he surprisingly excelled as an eccentric song-and-dance man, showcasing his remarkable fleet-footed abilities as a performer of the popular "Black Bottom" dance.

His most notable collaboration was with fellow hoofer Ann Pennington, and his performances left a lasting impression on audiences. Tom's ambition, however, lay in transitioning to the world of cinema, and he subsequently joined Fox as a contract player. Unfortunately, his film career was somewhat lackluster, and he was largely confined to producing two-reel comedy shorts for Educational.

Despite his limited success in film, Tom made a few notable appearances in better-quality productions, including "Louisiana Purchase" in 1941 and "Rhapsody in Blue" in 1945, although these roles were mere bit parts or cameos. It's worth noting that these appearances took place when Tom was well past his prime, which may have contributed to their relatively minor significance.

Tom's family was also steeped in the world of entertainment, with his sister Isabella being a talented vaudeville singer and violinist.
