Biography

London-born Lewiston embarked on a remarkable journey in the film industry, commencing his career in the cutting rooms, where he worked on commercials and documentaries. Additionally, he worked as a 2nd assistant director to the legendary Karel Reisz on commercials and the film Love from A to Z, directed by Mel Stuart and starring Liza Minnelli.

As he continued to hone his skills, Lewiston transitioned to feature films, working in the cutting rooms and taking on the challenges presented by sound. He had the opportunity to assist renowned sound professionals Winston Ryder and Chris Greenham, both of whom have won Academy Awards for their work.

When digital technology emerged, Lewiston seized the opportunity to found Movietrack Ltd, one of the first digital post-production facilities in the UK. The company worked on a diverse range of projects, including Shiner starring Michael Caine, Among Giants featuring Pete Postlethwaite, The Magnificent Ambersons with Madeleine Stowe and Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Sliding Doors starring Gwyneth Paltrow, and Merlin in 1996, for which Lewiston received an Emmy nomination.

Lewiston's next move was into film production, where he co-produced the films Shoreditch starring Joely Richardson and Shane Ritchie, and Charlie, a biographical drama about the notorious sixties gangster Charlie Richardson, played by Luke Goss.

His first full producer credit was on The Garden of Eden, an adaptation of Ernest Hemingway's novel, directed by his long-time friend and associate John Irvin. Lewiston also co-wrote the screenplay for the film.

Subsequently, Lewiston wrote, produced, and directed The Hot Potato, a true-story-based drama set in the late sixties. The film was shot on location in Belgium and the UK in 2010 and features an ensemble cast, including Ray Winstone, Colm Meany, Jack Huston, David Harewood, and John Lynch.
