Tim D. Janis was born on an Air Force Base in Northern California, and shortly after, the family relocated to Ohio before moving to Belgium and Germany. During this time, they traveled to various countries, including France, England, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Spain, allowing Tim to develop his keen observational skills and appreciation for different cultures.
The family eventually returned to the United States, settling in Ohio for Tim's first and second grade. However, their nomadic lifestyle continued, and they soon moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where Tim's father was training to deploy to Vietnam. This period marked the beginning of Tim's involvement in film, as his family would rent horses every weekend and ride in the nearby Four Hills area, where Tim's father would film them using his photography skills.
Tim's father taught him basic photo and film developing techniques at the age of 8, which sparked his interest in the medium. In college, Tim began training in stunt work, including fistfights, gunfights, and horseback riding, which he later combined with his martial arts skills as a Black Belt.
As his stunt training progressed, Tim began to focus on his acting skills, committing to developing his craft through intensive training programs, including a trip to Hollywood to study with Howard Fine. He also received improv training from the renowned actor and director Alan Arkin in Santa Fe.
Throughout his career, Tim has been fortunate enough to work on high-level projects alongside extremely talented actors, including Natasha Lyonne and Margot Robbie, who both produced their respective projects. He has also had the opportunity to work with Academy Award winners, Emmy winners, and producer elite, including Steven Spielberg, Chris Pine, and Dennis Hopper.
Notably, Tim has appeared in projects such as Into the West, a Spielberg production, and Carriers, where he shared the screen with Emily Van Camp, Lou Taylor Pucci, and Piper Perabo. He has also had the privilege of working with award-winning actors and actresses, including Kelsey Grammer, Gary Oldman, and Robert Urich.
