Thomas Miguel Rivas, born on July 9, 1988, to Julio and Christina Rivas, embarked on his acting journey at the tender age of five, participating in school plays that laid the foundation for his future endeavors.
As he grew older, Thomas delved deeper into the world of drama, achieving recognition on state and regional levels with his outstanding performances in various productions, including "The Rainmaker," "Bye Bye Birdie," "Edgar Allan Poe's Nevermore," "The Day They Shot John Lennon," "Night of the Living Dead," and "Romeo and Juliet."
As the eldest of four siblings, Thomas was surrounded by a supportive family that would later become an integral part of his filmmaking journey. His siblings, Alexia Rivas, Cesar Rivas, and Ariel Rivas, would all go on to become actors in their own right, working alongside Thomas on several of his projects.
Thomas's transition to on-camera acting came at the age of 15, when he signed with the long-time agency Magna Talent Agency. He quickly landed notable commercials for various clients, including OSRH Education, WIC Psa Tv, Micheal Brooks Jiminez, I-35 Auto Mall, Joey Chiaf, Ocean Dental, Riverwind Casino, Winstar Casino, Remington Park Casino, Hard Rock Casino, Spokies, Kevin Durants MVP Speech, and Bob Moore Honda, among many others.
In 2007-08, Thomas made his cinematic debut with the feature film "Ivory," starring Travis Fimmel and Beau Garret. He later contributed to US military training videos, further honing his skills and expanding his repertoire.
While pursuing a film and video production degree at OCCC college, Thomas founded Rivas Enterprise Films in 2016. He went on to craft compelling works like "Labyrinth of Horror" and "Dawn of a New Age: Day Walkers," followed by his first feature, "No Man's Land," which found a home on Amazon in January 2020.
Thomas's subsequent projects, including the award-winning "Rise of the Crimson Butcher" and the chilling "Terror House," solidified his position as a trailblazer in the film industry. Currently, he is immersed in a new venture, a TV series titled "Tales from the Shadows," slated for release on Amazon Prime.
Thomas's commitment to his craft has not only earned him recognition but has also inspired a family legacy in filmmaking. As the proud parent of Josue Valle, Eliana Rivas, Evelynn Rivas, and Ian Rivas, Thomas has created a unique and enriching dimension to the cinematic world, with his children becoming integral actors in his major films. This familial collaboration has not only strengthened their bond but has also added a new layer of depth to Thomas's work.
