Thanassis Totsikas, a renowned filmmaker, was born in the vibrant city of Athens, Greece. His journey in the film industry began in 2005 when he wrote and directed the critically acclaimed short film "EXIT", which garnered widespread recognition and accolades at prestigious festivals worldwide, including the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York, USA, and the Uppsala International Film Festival.
Throughout his career, Totsikas has honed his skills as an assistant director, working on a diverse range of projects, including commercials, short films, and feature films. His dedication and talent did not go unnoticed, as he was awarded the Greek Scholarships Foundation's tuition fees in 2006 to pursue a Master's degree in Direction of Photography at the prestigious E.S.C.A.C. in Barcelona, Spain.
During his time in Spain, Totsikas directed a short film and continued to refine his craft upon his return to Greece. He went on to direct numerous short films, music videos, and commercials, as well as editing many television commercials. After years of hard work and dedication, Totsikas' first feature film, "Saison Morte" (Dead Season),premiered in Greece in 2023, marking a significant milestone in his illustrious career.
