Tessa Blake is an acclaimed filmmaker and television director, distinguished for her work in the industry. Among the select group of eight women chosen for the prestigious Directing Workshop for Women at the American Film Institute, Tessa's films have premiered at esteemed festivals such as Cannes, Woodstock, and SXSW, garnering recognition at the Nantucket Film Festival and the Human Rights Watch Film Festival. Her accomplishments have been honored by the Academy, and her films have been released theatrically.
Tessa's upcoming project, "Boundary Waters," a coming-of-age drama that she wrote and directed, boasts an impressive cast featuring Carol Kane, Bill Heck, and Allison Miller, and is set to be released theatrically in 2025.
As a writer, Tessa has secured script deals with major networks, including ABC, NBC, FOX, and Warner Brothers. Her most recent endeavor is the creation and showrunning of a series based on the book "Sisterhood of Spies: the Women of the OSS," in collaboration with producers in Spain.
In addition to her work in film and television, Tessa has also directed plays for the Naked Angels Theater Company and The Atlantic Theater Company, and is a proud alumna of the 24 Hour Plays. She is also a founding advisor for The Moth.
