Biography

Terrell Carter, a multifaceted individual, was born and raised in Buffalo, New York, and has since become a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, effortlessly showcasing his skills as an actor-singer-songwriter, solidifying his status as a triple-threat.

In recent years, Carter has made a significant impact in television, starring in the critically acclaimed and widely popular Fox drama series Empire, alongside esteemed actors Taraji P. Henson, Terrence Howard, and Phylicia Rashad. Additionally, he has held a major recurring role in the USA Network drama Shooter, opposite Ryan Philippe and Omar Epps, as well as numerous other television appearances.

On the big screen, Carter made his film debut in Tyler Perry's Diary of a Mad Black Woman, performing the song "Father Can You Hear Me." He also appeared in Screen Gems' Think Like a Man Too, alongside Kevin Hart, and has accumulated numerous film credits. Both films debuted at number one in the country.

Prior to his solo career, Carter spent several years touring as a lead in the Perry-produced plays Madea's Class Reunion, Meet the Browns, and What's Done in the Dark.

In the early stages of his career, Carter toured with Fred Hammond as part of his musical group, Radical for Christ, for five years. Following the tour, he reunited with childhood friend Stevie J. and worked with him under P.Diddy and the Bad Boy umbrella as a songwriter and vocalist in Manhattan.

Within a year, Carter was signed by Quincy Jones to work in music publishing as a singer-songwriter and relocated to Los Angeles. He went on to collaborate with numerous recording artists, including Patti LaBelle, Beyoncé, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, and Christina Aguilera.

Presently, Carter resides in Los Angeles, continuing to pursue his passions in the entertainment industry.
