Biography

Teresa Ruiz is a renowned and accomplished actress in Mexican cinema, having received numerous international awards for her outstanding performances, including the prestigious Prix d'Interprétation Féminine in France, the India Catalina in Colombia, the Silver Mayahuel, and the Mexican Academy Award: The Ariel.

Her notable roles in television include portraying the complex and powerful character of Sandra Avila Beltrán, also known as The Queen of Cocaine, in the Netflix series Narcos: Mexico (2018).

In addition to her television work, Teresa stars in the Sony film Father Stu, a biographical drama based on the inspiring true story of Boxer-Turned-Priest Stuart Long, alongside Mark Wahlberg and Mel Gibson.

Upcoming projects include the A24 x Netflix series MO, co-written and executive produced by Ramy Youssef, where she stars alongside series creator Mo Amer.
