Taylor Roberts is a multifaceted American personality, exceling as an actress, poet, and creative director. With a flair for the artistic and a strong passion for humanitarianism, she currently serves as the Creative Director for Montecito Brands Inc, a group of brands including Montecito Coffee Company and Montecito Wine Company.
Born to parents Gregory Roberts and Teresa Taylor Norris, Taylor was named after her mother's side of the family. Her late grandfather was a distant cousin of the renowned actress Dame Elizabeth Taylor, although they never had the opportunity to meet.
Prior to her acting career, Taylor was an accomplished ballet dancer, having performed with esteemed companies such as the Royal Ballet of London and trained at the prestigious Kirov Academy of Ballet.
Taylor's early film career took off with her first audition in Manhattan, where she landed the role of Louise in Mona Lisa Smile, directed by Mike Newell and starring Julia Roberts.
She was later personally invited by Al Pacino and Patrice Chéreau to participate in a series of staged readings, where she played the title role of Betsy to Pacino's Napoleon. This experience was a highlight of her early career, working alongside notable actors such as F. Murray Abraham, Scarlett Johansson, and Bebe Neuwirth.
Taylor's subsequent roles included Emily in Melissa Painter's film Admissions, as well as Camilla Barnes on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. She demonstrated her versatility by playing a surprise murderer alongside actors Vincent D'Onofrio, Margaret Colin, and Brent Spiner.
Roberts attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where she studied both ballet and received her degree in Theatre, working under the guidance of then Dean of Drama, Gerald Freedman. On stage, she has tackled roles such as Rosalind in Shakespeare's As You Like It, Emily in Our Town, Nastya in Gorky's The Lower Depths, and Abigail Adams in 1776.
After a hiatus from acting due to illness, Taylor returned to the industry with television roles on Loiter Squad, Killing Kennedy, and the recurring role of Rachel Clark in AMC's period drama, TURN: Washington's Spies.
In 2012, Taylor published her first book of poetry, Bombshell Bohemia, which rose to Amazon's Top 100 list for Poetry Best-Sellers within 24 hours. She has also worked as an art director for fashion and beauty brands in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara.
Following her experience surviving the deadly debris flow at her home in Montecito, CA, in 2018, Taylor became the founding Creative Director for Montecito Brands Inc, a group of brands that donate a portion of their gross revenue to help rebuild the community.
