Biography

Tate Hanyok is a multifaceted creative force, driven by a passion for crafting female-centric comedies and relatable young adult stories that captivate and inspire audiences. As a writer, actor, and producer, she has earned recognition as one of the Top 25 Writers to Watch by the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFF) and Moviemaker, as well as one of the Top 100 Emerging Writers on the Tracking Board's Young and Hungry List.

Born and raised in California, with roots in colonial Virginia, Tate's liberal upbringing and perspective are deeply rooted in the unpredictable nature of the underdog and the transformative power of community. As a storyteller, she finds joy in crafting uplifting themes that transcend boundaries, driven by an unwavering commitment to sharing the untold stories of her unsung heroes.

Tate's recent writing endeavors include adapting the popular WattPad novel Along for the Ride into a motion picture for Picturestart, as well as penning The Pet Nup and Family Week for Mucho Mas. As a producer, she executive produced Sex APPeal alongside American High for Hulu, now streaming on the platform. Additionally, she co-produced and starred in the indie feature film Love and Baseball, which premiered on HBO Max.

As a versatile performer, Tate has made guest appearances in numerous notable shows and films, including The Office, Superstore, The Detour, Community, Shameless, Transparent, and Burt Wonderstone, among many others. Her comedic prowess has earned her a reputation as a skilled improviser, with credits in nearly 100 commercials.

Tate's creative journey began on the stage, where she is a proud company member of The B Street Theatre at the Sofia Center for the Arts in California.
