Tara Alexandra Brown, a multi-talented actress, director, writer, and producer, was born in Reno, Nevada. Her journey in the entertainment industry began when she was just 14 years old, after being discovered by renowned casting director Fern Champion during a visit to Los Angeles. Champion was so impressed with Brown's performance in a casting workshop meant for adults that she helped her land her first agent while still living in Nevada.
Brown's passion for acting started at a young age, and by the time she was 9 years old, she was already performing in full-length theater productions. She went on to star as Alice in "Alice in Wonderland" with the Sierra School of Performing Arts and became the youngest performer to be selected for an official cameo performance with the Great Basin Chautauqua Program at the age of 11.
As she grew older, Brown continued to hone her craft, starring in high school productions and professional theater scenes. She became a member of the acclaimed Good Luck Macbeth Theater company at 15 and originated the role of Maggie Moran in Stacey Spain's dramatic play, "Killarney Sabbatical."
Brown's educational pursuits took her to the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, where she received a scholarship in 2013. However, she chose to attend the University of Nevada, Reno instead, where she was awarded the Grace-Semenza Drama Scholarship as a freshman. During her time at the university, Brown had the opportunity to study with Tony Award Winner Adam Cates and perform in a piece from "Double Falsehood," a play thought to be an unknown work of William Shakespeare.
In 2015, Brown moved to Los Angeles, where she began working in film and television. She made her feature film debut in the horror film "Evil in Her" and television debut in Discovery Channel's popular true crime series "People Magazine Investigates."
Tragedy struck in 2016 when Brown was diagnosed with a rare form of Type 1 Diabetes known as "LADA" and became insulin-dependent at the age of 20. Despite this challenge, Brown remained committed to her craft and became a voice for performers with disabilities. She stars in the upcoming short film "And Yet So Far" about Type 1 Diabetes, a project she also co-wrote and executive produced.
Brown's notable roles include portraying Danielle Skylar in the Emmy Award-Winning series "Bosch" on Amazon and as Paige on the Lesflicks drama series "Every Day." She made her directorial debut in 2022 with the feature film version of the series, starring Vivica A. Fox, and was awarded Best Director at the 8&Halfilm Film Festival and Best Supporting Actress at the Morgana Film Festival.
A classically trained artist, Brown has received critical acclaim for her many performances on stage, having trained in voice, dance, and improvisation. Most recently, she starred as Kathy in the world premiere of Jerry Mayer's newest comedy, "Jews R 2 Much Fun," which was nominated for Best New Play by Broadway World Los Angeles and ran for seven months at the Santa Monica Playhouse.
