Biography

Tanis Chandler, a talented individual, was born on August 20, 1924, in Nantes, France, with her birth name being Tanis Anne Goldthwaite. Her father, Chandler Goldthwaite, was a renowned composer and soloist. Tanis's early education was a diverse experience, with her attending the prestigious Chateau de Bure school in Paris, Saint Joseph's in Arizona, and The Westlake School for Girls in Los Angeles.

At a remarkably young age of eleven, Tanis began her modeling career, posing for children's clothing advertisements and catalogs in New York City. This marked the beginning of a nine-year period where she modeled styles of gradually advancing years, with the majority of her time dedicated to junior miss styles. Her modeling career spanned a significant period, with her working on radio from 1937 until she made her uncredited film debut in 1943.

Tanis's film debut was in Warner's "Cinderella Jones," a movie that was initially unreleased until 1946. Following her film debut, she was engaged to dub one of the voices in the French language for an American film, a task she accomplished in over 40 films.
