Talal Al-Muhanna is a film producer with a focus on documentary and fiction films, particularly featuring filmmakers from Asia and Africa and projects in the Arts & Culture genre. His produced projects have been screened at numerous international film festivals, won awards, and have been sold to prominent television networks such as TV5Monde, Aljazeera, Arte, ZDF, NRK, NTR, YLE, DRK, Czeska Televise, and ERR.
As a co-executive producer, Talal has collaborated with esteemed organizations such as the Sundance Institute, Cinereach, and Tribeca Film Institute, as well as the Jan Vrijman Fund, Organisation de la Francophonie, Doha Film Institute, Sanad, Enjaaz, Screen Institute Beirut, AFAC, Hot Docs Blue Ice Group Fund, and MEDIA.
Talal holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Film & Moving Image Production from Leeds Metropolitan University in the UK and a Certificate in Fundraising from New York University.
In addition to his film work, Talal is a performing artsist who was born in Kuwait and raised in England and the United States. He received his professional training at the Elmhurst School of Dance in England and the North Carolina School of the Arts in the U.S.A.
As a performer, Talal has appeared in numerous theatrical stage productions across the United States, Europe, and Asia, including productions of West Side Story, The Merchant of Venice, and Faust. He has worked with renowned choreographers such as Eliot Feld, Jai Gonzales, and William Forsythe, and has performed at esteemed venues like the Royal Festival Hall, the Duke of York Theatre in London's West End, and the BBC.
As an arts producer, Talal has developed and produced live concerts, performances, and installations incorporating dance, drama, music, film, and video art. He has curated film screenings and performing arts programs for various venues and festivals across Europe, including the Korzo Theater in Holland, Zodiak Center for New Dance in Finland, and the DanceHouse in Ireland.
