Noted author and screenwriter, with numerous accolades to her name, including New York Times Bestseller. Her most recent publication, "Nothing General About It: How Love and Lithium Saved Me", co-authored with another, was released in April 2020 through HarperCollins. Currently, she is working on her next literary endeavor.
Prior to her writing career, Black held a position as a staff writer at Warner Bros. Pictures. She is also an alumnus of the prestigious American Film Institute Conservatory drama program.
Throughout her career, Black has been involved in various projects, including rewrites for hire and those in development with multiple production companies. Her produced screenwriting credits include the award-winning "A Year In The Life" on NBC, "State of Emergency" on HBO, for which she received the PEN Literary Award and nominations for the CableACE and Humanitas awards, and "Tapestries of Hope" on Showtime, which she also produced, among others.
Born in North Carolina, Black spent her formative years in Virginia before relocating to California, where she currently resides.
