Biography

Sung Yun Cho, a talented individual, was born in Seoul, Korea, and at the tender age of three, she embarked on a new journey with her parents and brother to Brooklyn, New York. As her family continued to grow and thrive, they made the move to Long Island, where Sung Yun would eventually graduate from Syosset High School.

Her academic pursuits took her to the State University of New York at Purchase Acting Conservatory, where she was well on her way to earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. However, her professional career took an unexpected turn during her first semester senior year, when she made her Broadway debut in Lanford Wilson's Redwood Curtain, directed by the renowned Marshall Mason and starring Jeff Daniels and Debra Monk.

Sung Yun's outstanding performance earned her an Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Newcomer on Broadway, a testament to her exceptional talent and dedication. Despite leaving college early, the institution's decision to recognize her Broadway show as an internship allowed her to graduate with her class, a remarkable achievement that speaks to her perseverance and commitment to her craft.
