Summer is a renowned and accomplished actor/producer, and Managing Partner and founding member of Choice Films Inc. & Choice Theatricals, a production company that has successfully produced a diverse range of theatre, television, and film projects.
Notably, Summer was a show-runner for the dramatic thriller television series "Big Dogs", and a lead producer on the multi-award-winning feature film Junction, which won 17 major festival awards and received a wide release in April 2014. Junction was also nominated for a 2014 Prism Award, alongside other notable films such as August: Osage County, Lee Daniels' The Butler, and The Spectacular Now.
Summer has also worked as a Line Producer/UPM on several films, including Holly Jolly, A Killer Romance, Daughter of the Bride, Pinball: The Man Who Saved The Game, One December Night, Redemption in Cherry Springs, The Winter House, Trick, The Scottish Play, Dead Sound, Lez Bomb, After the Sun Fell, Heather, and Producer/Actor for Lost Cat Corona, as well as Line Producer/Actor for Trust Me I'm a Lifeguard, which premiered at the TriBeCa Film Festival.
In addition to her work in film, Summer has a strong background in theatre, with numerous Off-Broadway and Off-Off Broadway producing credits, including world premieres of Reading Under the Influence, Stain, and In The Daylight, as well as American Stare. She has also produced several other notable theatre projects, including Five Women Wearing the Same Dress, Between the Lines, Tune In at Caroline's On Broadway, Love Angst & the Way In, the From Stage to Screen Workshop Series entitled Looking for Limerance, the world premiere of a new multi-media adaptation of Strindberg's Playing With Fire at NYC's famous burlesque club The Box, and the world premiere of Scrambled Eggs at Theatre Row.
Summer has also been involved in various organizational roles, serving as a Managing Member and Member of the Board of Directors for The Private Theatre from 2011-2013, and as the President of the Board of Directors at T. Schreiber Studio NYC from 2009-2014.
In addition to her work in film and theatre, Summer has also had a successful career in commercial spots, with over 650 national and international television and radio commercials to her credit. She has also appeared in recurring roles in television shows, feature films, and has voiced multiple characters in several cartoon series.
Summer's numerous awards and nominations include the 2012 Best Supporting Actress Award at The Long Island International Film Expo, and then again at 2013 IndieFest Los Angeles, for her work in Junction, as well as the 2006 New York Innovative Theater Award for Best Actress in a Featured Role for her work in the 25-year revival of Last Summer at Bluefish Cove. She was also nominated for a 2008 International Voicey Award for Best Female Voice Talent for her work as a voice-over artist.
