Nottingham, a city in the East Midlands of England, was the birthplace of this remarkable individual. Her parents, employed by the esteemed Players Cigarettes, instilled in her a strong sense of values and work ethic from a young age. Meanwhile, she pursued a career as a secretary with the Co-op, a prominent consumer co-operative, while also nurturing her passion for the performing arts by acting with the Cooperative Arts Theatre.
As fate would have it, her big break arrived at the tender age of 24, when she was handpicked for a chorus role in the John Hanson tour of the classic musical, 'The Desert Song'. This initial success was soon followed by another tour with the same esteemed director, and subsequently, she made her mark in the Broadway production of 'Godspell'.
