Biography

Steven H. Stern, a renowned filmmaker, earned his degree from Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada, setting the stage for a prolific career in the Canadian entertainment industry. His journey began at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC),where he explored every aspect of the industry, laying the groundwork for his future success. Later, he made the move to Los Angeles, where he started his directing career at MGM Studios, initially focusing on commercials, before transitioning to theatrical and television motion pictures.

Throughout his illustrious career, Stern has directed over sixty motion pictures and mini-series, many of which he has also produced and/or written. His extensive body of work has spanned major studios and television networks, as well as independent films. He has had the privilege of working with some of the most iconic and celebrated stars in the industry, including Tom Hanks, Michael Douglas, Keanu Reeves, Kirk Douglas, Christopher Reeve, Kim Basinger, Tony Curtis, Holly Hunter, Tommy Lee Jones, Jackie Smith, Richard Thomas, Kate Jackson, and Bill Cosby, to name a few.

Stern's films have garnered widespread recognition and acclaim, with numerous awards won at prestigious film festivals around the world, including those in Berlin, Cannes, Toronto, and Hollywood. Today, he resides in Encino, California, with his wife, having made a lasting impact on the world of cinema.
