Stephen Ford is a multifaceted Swedish-American actor and director who has traversed a diverse range of roles throughout his career. His journey in the entertainment industry commenced at a tender age, when he began landing commercials and collaborating with his neighborhood friends on short films.
As a child, Ford's family was involved in the military, which led to his frequent relocations across the United States. He grew up in a diverse array of environments, including Alaska, Alabama, California, Kansas, and Florida. This nomadic upbringing ultimately contributed to his adaptability and resilience.
As he entered his teenage years, Ford relocated to Los Angeles, where he began appearing in various Disney, Fox, and Nickelodeon sitcoms. This experience laid the groundwork for his subsequent starring role in the American adaptation of Kamen Rider Ryuki, playing the lead in CW's Kamen Rider Dragon Knight.
Throughout his career, Ford has demonstrated his versatility by appearing in a wide range of indie films and television shows, including ABC's Private Practice and Desperate Housewives, MTV's Teen Wolf, and Freeform's Switched at Birth.
In 2014, Ford took a hiatus from acting to focus on his passion for directing, following a series of life-changing events. Upon his return to the industry, he partnered with Machinima, a Warner Brothers YouTube company, serving as their lead narrative show runner. This experience ultimately inspired him to establish his own production company, Ascndr, which is guided by the motto "Low budgets, High Concepts."
