Sprague's journey in the acting world began at the tender age of 18, when he made his professional debut in summer stock at the renowned Hampton Playhouse in New Hampshire. From there, his path took him to Washington D.C., Boston, New York, and ultimately Los Angeles. Along the way, he had the privilege of studying with esteemed instructors such as Lee Strasberg, Mark Rydell, and Ada Mather-Brown, among others. As reflected in his resume, Sprague has appeared in numerous films and television shows throughout his career.
Television Work and Documentary Career:
In the mid-1990s, Sprague took on a part-time job on a documentary in Los Angeles, which would ultimately lead to a remarkable 25-year journey. During this time, he won two Emmy Awards for his documentary work. In 2009, he embarked on an extraordinary adventure, navigating the Arctic's treacherous Northwest Passage on a 57-foot boat. This five-month journey resulted in the Emmy Award-winning documentary, "THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ICE," which also spawned a best-selling book. Throughout his career, Sprague has received national and international recognition for his acting, writing, producing, cinematography, and editing skills.

As the founder of Hole InThe Wall Productions, Sprague has worked on a wide range of projects, from Alaska to Zanzibar. His films have received widespread acclaim, with one notable highlight being his first Emmy Award for the America's Cup documentary, "The 25th Defense." Sprague's writing and commentary have been published in The New York Times and numerous major national and international magazines. He has also worked as a staff writer for two Showtime Network episodic shows, a successful screenwriter in Los Angeles, and a broadcast journalist/producer for eight years at an NBC affiliate.
