Kanti's work as a playwright and director has been widely produced by prestigious institutions, including the British Council, National Theatre Studio, Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, National Theatre Scotland, HOME Manchester, and Theatre Royal Plymouth.
Notably, he received the esteemed Best Director award at the Thespo Theatre Festival X in Mumbai, and took on lead roles in two feature films: Tasher Desh-The Land of Cards, directed by Q in 2012 and released on Netflix, and Madly Bangali, directed by Anjan Dutt in 2010 and available on Amazon Prime.
Kanti's academic pursuits led him to complete his Master's degree as an Inlaks scholar at the Royal College of Art in London, after which he returned to India in 2016 to write and produce a feature film, Cat Sticks, which premiered on MUBI and received a Grand Jury prize at the Slamdance Film Festival in 2019.
He then went on to write and direct a short film, The Daughter, starring Naseeruddin Shah, which premiered at the MAMI Mumbai and Palm Springs International Film Festival in 2022.
In addition to his work in film and theatre, Kanti founded and ran a nightclub at The Yard Theatre in East London from 2013 to 2016.
Recently, his studio, Field, designed a 2690 square meter house in North Goa, which is being represented by Sotheby's and is set to be completed in 2024.
