Biography

Sophie Nélisse, a talented actress, was born in Windsor, Ontario, but her life took a significant turn when she was just four years old, as she relocated to Montréal with her family.

Starting her career at the tender age of seven, Sophie began with commercials, gradually transitioning to the big screen at the age of ten in the 2012 French-Canadian film Monsieur Lazhar. Her remarkable performance in the film earned her a prestigious Genie and Jutra award for Best Supporting Actress, setting the stage for her future success.

Following her debut, Sophie went on to play a role in Luc Picard's 2012 feature Esimésac before being approached to audition for the lead role of a German girl in the English-language feature film The Book Thief.
