Solo made his debut in hip-hop in 1982 at the Trocadéro, a renowned cultural institution in Paris, alongside fellow artists smurf and breakdance. This marked the beginning of his journey in the world of hip-hop.
In 1984, he joined the dance group Paris City Breakers, a collective that was instrumental in shaping the French hip-hop scene. This association allowed him to hone his skills and learn from other talented artists.
Solo's next major move came in 1987 when he co-founded the French rap group Assassin with Rockin' Squat. The group's music was a fusion of hip-hop and rock, and they quickly gained a loyal following.
After a successful run with Assassin, Solo left the group in 1994 but continued to collaborate with Rockin' Squat on various projects. One notable occasion was their performance at the iconic Olympia music hall in 2009.
In 1995, Solo took on the role of artistic director and coordinator for the music project "La Haine", which brought together some of the biggest names in French rap at the time. He also produced the track "Popopop" for the album "Paris under the bombs" by NTM, and worked with Marseille-based producer Jacojack to remix Princess Erika's hit single "Faut qu'j'travaille".
Solo's production credits continued to grow in the late 1990s. In 1996, he produced Polo's "Dry Break" for the first Hostile compilation, and collaborated with Fred Chichin of Rita Mitsouko on the song "Les consonnes".
In 1998, Solo co-produced the track "Cauchemar sans fin" with Jacojack for the closing credits of the film Assassin(s) by Mathieu Kassovitz. The song was a haunting and atmospheric reflection of the film's themes.
The new millennium saw Solo continue to explore new sounds and collaborations. In 2000, he composed the piece "F.U.A" with Uncle O, which was featured in the film Les Rivières pourpres by Mathieu Kassovitz.
In 2002, Solo co-founded the electro-hip-hop group Toxic with Uncle O. The group's music was a fusion of punk, rock, rap, electro, and jam, and they quickly gained a loyal following.
As a solo DJ, Solo has made frequent appearances at various clubs and parties, including the Social Club, "Back in the Day" parties, and as a duo with other DJs like DJ Pone and Crazy B from Birdy Nam Nam, Brodinski, Dr. Vince, Boombass de Cassius, or the godfather Dee Nasty.
Solo is also a resident DJ at the exclusive Parisian club Silencio, which was decorated by David Lynch. Despite his success and fame, Solo remains deeply rooted in his hip-hop heritage and often animates evenings following screenings of Mr. Rocket's documentary, Smells Like Hip Hop.
In 2007, Solo founded the label Black Frog Entertainment, which he co-produced with LaBreak Center. The label has released music by the electro band Dark Gonzo, MonomaniaX, and other talented artists.
