Sohrab Modi's life began on a chilly autumn morning, November 2nd, 1897, in the bustling metropolis of Bombay, a city that was then part of the Bombay Presidency within the vast expanse of British India. This renowned thespian, who would go on to captivate audiences with his remarkable performances, was destined to leave an indelible mark on the world of cinema.
Throughout his illustrious career, Sohrab Modi was recognized for his versatility as both an actor and director, bringing to life iconic characters in films such as Mirza Ghalib, released in 1954, Pukar, which premiered in 1939, and Jailor, which hit the screens in 1938.
However, like all mortals, Sohrab Modi's life was not destined to last forever. On January 28th, 1984, he breathed his last in the same city where he was born, Bombay, which had by then been renamed as Maharashtra, a state in the Republic of India.
