Simone Vicari Moore, a multifaceted individual, was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and spent most of her formative years in Brooklyn, New York City, where she was raised by her extended family. This cultural melting pot had a profound impact on her artistic development, as she began singing and dancing at the tender age of five.
As she grew older, Simone's fascination with music only deepened, and she devoted herself to studying the complete catalog of songs by Sarah Vaughan and Billie Holiday. Her passion for performance soon led her to take the stage in talent shows and modeling events in Manhattan, where she honed her craft and gained valuable experience.
After establishing herself as a successful model and voice-over artist in New York and Paris, Simone decided to pivot and pursue a career in acting. Her decision was met with success, as she was accepted into several prestigious drama schools, including the University of California, San Diego's Theatre and Dance Program. During her time at UCSD, she had the privilege of working with renowned directors such as Des Mc Anuff, Darko Tresnjak, Anne Bogart, Lisa Harrow, and Fiona Shaw.
Upon graduating, Simone began her professional acting career Off-Broadway at The Classical Theatre of Harlem, and has since performed in numerous productions in New York, Los Angeles, and regionally, including the esteemed La Jolla Playhouse. Her classical training has earned her critical acclaim in The New York Times and Los Angeles Times for her Shakespearean roles and her work with the Civilians Theatre Company in New York and The Shakespeare Center LA, where she recently portrayed the iconic Lady Macbeth.
In Los Angeles, Simone's career has flourished, with leading roles in independent films, guest-starring and recurring roles on television, including Boston Legal, Cold Case, and Without a Trace. Her solo play, "The Divorce Comedy," premiered at the REDCAT in Los Angeles during their 2020 New Original Works Festival.
Beyond her impressive acting credits, Simone is also a soulful singer, and she uses her talents to volunteer for various socially conscious organizations. She is also dedicated to teaching art to children, inspiring the next generation of creatives.
